The Realm 2017 Moonracer is a powerful and refined estate-grown Cabernet Sauvignon-based blend from Wappo Hill in Napa Valley’s Stags Leap District. Moonracer is composed of the finest lots from Realm’s estate vineyard, a complex site with multiple elevations, exposures and diverse soils.
The 2017 is a blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Cabernet Franc, 6% Merlot and 3% Petit Verdot. Rich blackberry, boysenberry, cassis and dark cherry mingle with chocolate, tobacco, exotic spice, flowers and distinctive mineral notes. Full-bodied and concentrated, it balances powerful fruit with freshness, fine-grained tannins and a long, savory finish.
Realm's own retrospective describes the 2017 as broad, dense and complete, with dark spices, herbal notes, rich fruit, dark chocolate and black olive character—and considers it delicious to drink now.
